Gazing at a large menu board, with beautiful pictures of mouth watering food offerings. Seduced by copious lettuce, lavish red tomato slices and seemingly crunchy dill/pickles, full size beef patty and cheese sloping outside the soft and sesame drizzled bun... who wouldn't be attracted to have this scrumptious hamburger... and so you stand in line, almost salivating eager to ease that hunger not minding how much it cost. Then you got your order.. Savoring its aroma... as you take the first bite... you ask yourself.. "where's the beef?" You look away and survey the hamburger thinking "did I drop the lettuce? what happened to the tomato?? had it gone eloped with the pickle??? ".
This is one of classic example on how entrepreneurs lure us to buy their products using their picture perfect menu boards as bait... Well I guess, this is how they put the consumers intelligence and attitude in contempt for most of us endure to digest the rip-off product and bottle up our dissatisfaction merely thinking... never again!
I say, this has to stop.
Am a usually dinning in food courts/ food choices and the worst vendors I've ever tried is at Landmark Trinoma Q.C. Food Choices. I'd give two thumbs up to the ambiance BUT two thumbs down to their vendors that offers Filipino dishes/meals. I tried them all but its either its too much load of MSG "flavoring" [read FLAVORING] that stays in your mouth or their products' obviously tiny portion is immensely different from their advertisement.
If I am to give most of Filipino Food Vendors, in Landmark Trinoma, a grade for "Value for Money" category.. its gonna be a shining and sparkling F!
In addition, check your receipts often. Once I dined there few minutes before closing, I ordered to viands and two rice for me and my hubby for our very late dinner... When I cleared the accumulated receipts out of my wallet as I got home... To my surprise, just a spoonful of "Bagoong" having the amount of 10 Peso was declared on my receipt from that vendor. If I'm not mistaken it's Ilonggo Grill(?) I can't remember the vendor any longer for it was the last time I've ever dined to that food choices. Who in this country would order just a spoonful of "Bagoong" few minutes before closing?? This happened, I think, 2 months ago... To my mistake I just let it pass due to my hectic schedule. I would dig into my pile of receipts to post it here soon as I find it.
And so, I'm calling the attention of the Landmark Trinoma Q.C. You know what to do... Be more extra vigilant.
This post is just a primer. Thus, next time I will always bring a camera with me to document those scheming restaurants and food choices/court vendors then post those pictures here on Consumer Writes.

About Consumer Writes
Mabuhay!
What is Consumer Writes really? Consumer Writes [CW] is a blog about my research/observations on commercial products and services available in the Philippines, focusing on local brands, in an attempt to applause or discredit these entrepreneurs or government agencies. CW also advocates "Buy Pinoy". We believe that buying our own products would strengthen not just our economy but also our sense of pride and nationalism.
CW Mission:
CW is a non-partisan and not an advertising channel / vehicle with a mission to empower every Filipino people / customers / tax payers to be on top with accurate information on every product or services so as we can choose wisely and to push the bad local product (or service) to redevelop or improve.
CW Motto:
A substandard product/service with a cheap price is much exorbitant (unreasonable) than its a lil' bit pricey competitor.
Apparently, PANA (Philippine Association of National Advertisers) and Adboard, even the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) has overlooked, if not forgotten, their responsibility to protect each rights of the consumers / taxpayers thus CW would attempt to initiate this liberty for it is time for every Filipino consumer to stand and fight because we deserve what we pay for.
CW hopes that you can join us in examining or to analyze the current strategies of businessmen (or shall we say 'capitalists) and government offices, if they apply the truth in their advertisement, ethical practice, responsibilities or if they deliver quality of service which every consumer deserves.
Thank you for dropping by the Consumer Writes blog.
